In the Vineyard

In the photos Darren and Molly are working diligently among the vines on Block 34B Picpoul Blanc.  This yearly pruning is a means of preparing the vines for their awakening in spring.

On every row down to the individual vine our crew goes through the vineyard cutting back dormant shoots and preserving spur positions (the sites from which next season’s shoots will sprout).

On Picpoul Blanc we are pruning back to 6 spur positions (12 total shoots) with a fist’s worth of space between.
